This class for children from age 8 who are interested to find out how they can start making computer graphics and animated gifs for their personal projects, programming projects in different languages including Scratch, and different platforms with the game engine. The class will introduce how to use tools in free software for pixel art. Children can use this software online or download it to their computers. Some general art principles will be discussed and specific rules for pixel art will be pointed out. The small animated project will be offered and demonstrated step by step. Pixel art is a part of our school’s larger course on Digital Art and students in our programming courses are using their own creations for Python, JavaScript, and Scratch programming projects. No previous experience with programming or computer graphics is necessary.
